Debate

Are married people or single people happier? Personally, I think married people are happier. Yes, I know I'm married and on IE - but I STILL think I'm happier then an unattached person might be. Aren't we here to live a little but keep things sweet at home...thoughts?

@YUD

Totally agree with you.

Being happily married or at least claiming to be, and yet actively looking for extra marital sex on here is either hypocrisy or self delusion or both.

Oh btw, there are also two types of singles/unattached ... those who *choose* to be happily single and those who don't ... I am obviously in the former rather than the latter

To the OP, are you happy because someone’s doing your laundry and cooking your meals ?

"Is being unhappy when you are married worse than being unhappy when you are single?"

Yes because your options are limited and it is more than likely you've got dependents to think about. A single person can please themselves without having to take others into account [within reason, obviously].

Dear OP

You would be what Bridget Jones called a "smug married" ... I have many friends in my "real" life who are smug marrieds like you ... they are not happy in their marriage but still very smug about being married ... I was married for over twenty years and now been single for over ten years ... being happy is a state of mind ... my marriage wasn't great but I kept myself happy ... as a single now, I'm happier than ever.

You don't have to be married to be happy you know. Sounds to me like you're trying to convince yourself you are happier than an unattached person!

I agree with Yourultimatedesire

Being married and unhappy is far worse. It affects both parties and kids if they are in the picture.

Also agree with BucksMans72. You can be happily married and enjoy a little something on the side. It's been proven to enhance the marriage if done properly and discretely. I know people who have mastered this art and happy to give references to any newbies who need help. However, as I've been sworn to secrecy it's not going to happen.

So we have to be careful on here. Know what you want and try to stick to it. Don't fall in love with your IE but have an amazing body and mind-blowing experience...

Love it and very true

Being happy and being happily married are very separated things in my book.
Jeez I’ve been dumped for a dog 🙄😯🥱 so yes us women would be dropped in a second.

Definitely a daft question, you’d think we’d have some better topic of conversations by now.

Your Ultimate Desire

Happily married and on here .. maybe happy because they’re having their cake and eating it.

Everyone on here is on here because something in their life is missing, be it companionship, sex, friendship. Ask the question of which aspect the man would forfeit; wife / home or an IE and without doubt I reckon most would give up their IE like a hot potato. The financial security and stability at home would win hands down. Ask a married woman and I don’t think you’d get a definitive answer; we’re more complex!

So, who’s happier, married or single? It’s a daft question, as daft as asking which is best, flowers or trees.

For the record, I’m married and I reckon I’m pretty happy (now he’s gone back to work).
