It could of course mean "you're great"! It's difficult as a bloke to find a balance between being overly friendly and too forward or being cautious. I personally read all of the profiles before sending a message to try to understand the person. And "you're great" should be taken at face value. You could simply read with "why do you say that?" to elicit a response.

If all communication is like this then it probably means he is either stringing you along or he has many IEs on the go at the same time... if you can't engage in a good conversation then what is the point?

OMG the irony of my post having so many typos! I’ve had to retype it below!

I would say he’s just not too great at articulating himself. I can see that you might want more in order to feel that he’s being genuine. Maybe you could give him some additional adjectives too select from lol like multiple choice. Actually I’m sitting thinking that could be quite a bit of fun!

I'd take it as a sign that they, at the very least, they don't want to end the conversation!
What do you next is up to you: carry on the conversation until you get to know each other better, or pass straight to Go and get a room!

Don’t read too much into certain words like ‘great ‘ …we are all great in our own funny ways but it’s just a word..sometimes there is a ‘but’ …this follows with something on the line of …your a great person but I don’t really want to shag you 🫤
