How important is a good profile name and photo..?

Have you dismissed a potential IE on the basis of a terrible user name and
a profile photo? I know I have, maybe I should have given them some friendly advice?

‘Bored’ (ok maybe more fed up and exasperated) was my state of mind when I first joined, and I have stuck with the profile name. I think profile names do have an impact on success. I dislike the Y fronts, Abs avatars or overtly sexual profile names, but any dismissal is usually due to other reasons.

Looking at available avatars, it's a real struggle to choose one that reflects me in any way. Corpse feet - is that available in rhe women's avatar section?

Oh God - the corpse feet! Yes Becky Sharp! 🤣🤣🤣. I'm not a fan of the man so desperate he's walking off a mountain edge! 🤣

Not sure if we’re allowed to say, but there was an avatar that I nicknamed in my head ‘fried egg cock and balls man’ soooo off putting as a first impression 😂

I also don’t like the generic ‘corpse feet’ avatar.

I’m obviously way too fussy though!

Totally agree. Even if the rest of the profile is perfect a vulgar (great word!) username or photo would be an instant no for me

Yes! Name is first thing you see. Love anything that is clever or funny (eg ‘Strumpet Voluntary’) Ignore anything with words like ‘bored’, ‘lonely’, ‘69’ or anything overtly sexual (if not funny, as above!) or boastful (‘classy woman’) or new age.

I use to work in HR for a Fortune 500 company. If an applicant applied for a position using an email address that contained profanity or was just distasteful his/her application was discarded. In my CV and resume writing workshops creating a professional email address was always the first assignment. With that being said if I receive an eloquently written message from a flirt and his username contains the name of his most coveted body part I will not reply. If you can't muster up a modicum of respect to use an appropriate username it's my feeling that you will not be respectful in person.

Yes, yes yes. It’s very important, although some men have disagreed with me. Anything with an awful sexual connotation to it will turn me off the person immediately. I think the best one I’ve seen so far is ‘ilickpussy’. Why? They either think they need to boast to make them appeal to women or they are showing they are not really taking this seriously.

And woman with awful profile names….don’t get me started on that
