I have the same problem about getting cold feet and afraid of getting caught .Usually if I know there is a chance of getting caught I cancel the date .I always make sure that everything goes to plan and alibi’s are covered .

I agree with 1393321 ( ?) a walk is a brilliant thing to do. There’s lots of psychology around the benefits of having a conversation side by side with someone vs face to face over a cup of tea which is more intense!

I have done both as first dates and definitely prefer the walk!

To many males on this site talk the talk.
Think they can walk the walk.
But when it comes to actually meeting up!?!… (Oh! Super scary!🙄).
No further comment… (Examines her nails)… 🙄🥱☹️

Agree and especially the last paragraph ... make me go all 🙄

I once had coffee in a public place (chosen by him) with someone who spent the whole time looking like a rabbit caught in headlights as well as looking around furtively every few minutes. Even if he looked like Clooney or Pitt (he no way did), it would have been a No Way Jose from me (obviously I exaggerate a little ... I wouldn't turn down Messrs C & P that easily 😉) ... but you get the drift ... 😆

Beckysharp - I think for a guy who's doing it for the first time, the meet is kinda the 'Crossing the Rubicon' moment. Up until then they can tell themselves they are just messing around or w/e, but if they go through with the meet, that's it, they're cheating, there's no reframing it, they will just have to make their peace with it. Being able to get to the meet might well have been the first time they had to lie to their partner. Crossing those lines tests their motivation.

For some guys, sheer hornyness isn't enough to see them over, contrary to popular belief we aren't all raging horn dogs (just most of us 😛), but the need to be found desirable & attractive is pretty universal I think

Yes, that's true. It wouldn't surprise me if it was true for some women, too. I've had one meet with a woman whose reticence has to be seen/heard to be believed. I'm sure that there are people of both sexes who would like to be needed/wanted/appreciated again and think that an affair will provide that feeling but, when the opportunity arises, they fear the ramifications of getting caught and upsetting TWO other people (and, possibly, children and the wider family). Homer Simpson had that problem once...

Is that really true Funkopop? Fascinating!

I’ve never had a guy panic on me (yet!!). But I didn’t think men would turn down the opportunity of possible sex once they’d gone that far.
