Lockdown Result!

I've met my (very first!) IE - we're meeting up frequently since lockdown has been eased. We are having so much fun, our feelings towards each other are so strong! I hope this lasts awhile, and doesn't fizzle out after the summer. How do you eventually deal with an IE breakup?

Enjoy it while it lasts ... as with all "relationships" it will end either sooner or later ... you just deal with it like an adult that you are.

"I think perhaps one has been stuck in lockdown for too long!"

My thoughts exactly!

You will eventually lose them, nothing lasts forever, but how can you lose something that was never yours in the first place? Enjoy what you get out of it but don’t have any false expectations.

" Chezley - There isn't a breakup in an ie. You're confusing it with romance."

Rubbish there is always a mourning ... (unless you just message to meet up, meet, bye and only message again to meet again).
Some IE's have been able to stay friends others, logistically its not been possible, and as with the loss of other *friendships* be they a disagreement never to be reconciled or other.

The first IE I 'lost' as his job ended here, no 'love', just friendship and fun, and it surprised me how upsetting it was ... purely due to the loss of that time together...
Every IE has been different and no one has had the same interests as him.

They are all different. The hardest is the one where you have very strong feelings for them. It does hurt, like any break up. But you do get over it eventually.

I think you deal with it by always reminding your self that it’s an affair not traditional dating and your ie belongs to someone else and keep your emotions in check or you will end up getting hurt x

The initial infatuation will feel overwhelming ... keep a sensible head and dont take unnecessary risks ...

Hmm this sounds like make believe!!

How often have you met so have already gained these strong feelings. I think perhaps one has been stuck in lockdown for too long!
