Social IE

I never realised how much I craved going out and meeting new people, IE helped me achieve that. Dating again, after years of matrimonial unbliss, has helped me reclaim my social life and made me become a happier person,  made me more spontaneous and frankly, more relaxed.

Agreed just simple conversations and meeting new people can make such a difference

I think it’s too risky to meet someone new in the current circumstances. Fair enough chatting online or on the phone. It’s not worth the risk to your own family.

For me an IE isn’t about a social life, I have that anyway.

Contact whether virtual or in person is so important. More so now
I think. Lock down has been lonely. Work ( I wasn't furloughed) and home. That's been my life for 7 months. Chatting has been a very wel one break from the loneliness and monotony of life

I was talking to an elderly family member and they said in the war the same feelings prevailed - a just get on with it and an urgency to relationships as no one knew what was around the corner

The doom and gloom isn’t any good for anybody’s soul. I’m not a poet but re-joining IE has give me new lease of life and a brighter outlook all together.

Agreed. Being wanting and knowing you give pleasure.

The feeling of wanted in someone’s life makes you feel good and u make more efforts on yourself to look good etc.
I feel more good about myself since I have met my IE and try to enjoy life in this situation. It actually calms u down to deal with your daily responsibilities.

Might be a silly question... if you are unhappy why not leave and move on?"

Some do, my ex decided that he had had enough of this life, cleared the joint account and moved on with a 20 something.

He had NO INTEREST in the consequences for myself and the children. We are still enduring hte consequences of his actions several years later .... he is not with girlfriend number, no idea, and the impact of the children is still terrible, which I must deal with, not him.

If it is only 1 or 2 elements of a marriage which is not working, (and that an affair fills those gaps) why destroy a family and lives which have been worked on, for sometimes decades?
