Not having sex with the partner is a symptom, not the problem. The problem is usually deeper than that.
On a slightly different note, maybe the problem is the concept of marriage, that hasn't evolved with the changing times. There was a time when society needed this concept, but does that need still ring true? Or are we forcing people to do what's socially acceptable, but against individual desires?

Similar for me....probably 20 years celibate within a long marriage.
This is not unusual, i have discovered, among friends and now in this thread.
But I wonder how many others wish ....as i do.... that We could be open and honest with our partners, to stop all the sneaking around!!!!

Ok so mine is 16 years. It started as friends and he is still my best mate. The problem is that as time goes on it becomes more difficult. I began to resent him a bit. I hate "cheating" I'm even more scared of meeting someone and falling in love. But society doesnt accept our situation. We are supposed to be married and content in our slippers and winciette.

I would not be here if myself and hubby were still intimate had seperate bedrooms since our daughter left home it works fine for us we are very good friends it's better than ending the marriage we both agree on that

It's probably the case that many of us on here are the position of a long marriage that is now devoid of any sexual content. The hope is that this site may provide a solution to that by matching us to someone for a relationship that offers fulfilment without the need for destroying what has become a friendship at home. The trick is finding that match and meeting someone in a world where meeting face-to-face is now frowned upon.
