Maybe it's in the DNA or blokes aren't good at taking hints or gift ideas. In the early days I bought her a set of kitchen knives. Didn't I regret that! Sometimes you learn the hard way...

First of all he came to me as a 60 years old man that turned out to be 75 , came Christmas . I opened my email and found a message saying that he sent me a Card " I opened it just to find cats and dogs singing to me....hung on a minute he is single living alone... I guess I know where I stand now... but I definitely don't deserve a Google generated Christmas Card.

My husband and I gave each other nothing. I told him openly in the weeks before that it upsets me that we don't wear wedding rings (my engagement needs adjusting, wedding gives me a rash and he lost his cos he leaves it in the cupboard). Told him light heartedly but sincerely that I was disappointed he didn't sort it for my birthday in early December. Stayed hopeful for Christmas. Nothing. We're still not wearing wedding rings.

Personally, I think that tops the screw drivers 🤷‍♀️

Got my wife a hoover once but as a joke. Screwdriver set is a bit sad really.
