Personal Maintenance

I prefer a facially well groomed man with a beard or not. But have met men who neglect certain areas which spoils the overall effect. Ear hairs, nose hairs, blackheads, flakey skin, hair growing from top if nose. Why can't men make sure their skin, hair and nails are in check and tidy? How would they like a woman turning up with all that? Get with the maintenance programme!

That's fine but sometimes we don't have the luxury of going home to change prior to meeting our IE (that's not to say a basic cleanup prior to a meet isn't warranted!)
I travel a lot for my job and often work away so I frequently live out of a suitcase and therefore appreciate that 'I've just unpacked' look you get from folded/rolled clothing.
As an engineer these days, it's imperative we adopt a skin care regime (no one likes the sight of dermatitis) but sadly, hard skin and the occasional chipped nail are inevitable.
Fortunately it's all a part of my charm and I discuss this prior to any meet. If we're all OK then great; if not, well I guess we move on
There are posts on topics here that also express the need to maintain your normal (married) routine - if you go to work in PPE, then this shouldn't change so as not to arouse suspicion

Surely pubic hair is more feminine? Isn’t there something odd about men who prefer a woman to be completely shaved, it looks too much like prepubescent girls.

Nobody likes the smoke monster from Lost chasing your genitals look. If you don’t get the reference thunder Harry Potter Dementor.

But at the other end of the spectrum is the dead plucked chicken attractive?

Personally nice clean shaved dangly bits but leave the surrounding hair trimmed short.

Sounds a little shallow, but I prefer men who are clean ‘downstairs’. Not a big fan of beards either, but I will tolerate it as it is in fashion.

Clean hands, trimmed nails, make sure smells are good, and they’ve got their first brownie points in the bag.

How does the OP know how women turn up

I keep my grooming up to spec, I do have facial hair but it's always evenly trimmed with those extra hairs shaved away, I would always be sure to trim and nose or ear hair before meeting anybody, I always want to project the best version of myself, most of us are here to find that special first meet feeling, if we wanted "normal" we wouldn't be here right??? On the subject of manscaping, I have hairy legs so a fully shaved downstairs would make me look weird, Haha, but I have always, always made sure I am trimmed right back with smoothly shaven dangly bits, Haha.

Oh so many men just don't bother...
They ask are you shaved or trimmed, then are surprised when you ask them.
Not many people like unruly public hair!!!

As for the other aspects of grooming, there is a lot to be desired.

Same goes for clothing.... they ask what are you wearing when we meet? I ask them, oh not sure. If I'm making an effort I expect the same back.

Over the years I have noticed alot of men expect a woman looking well but when it comes to personal care they neglect that 🤷‍♀️
I mean how can you expect&demand when yourself you are a scruff 🤦‍♀️

I always keep on top of my 'man-scaping', everything is trimmed, cut, plucked or otherwise kept neat & tidy wherever appropriate.

I'm not the most naturally hirsute of blokes anyway, but nothing is unruly or out of control! :)

Essential grooming is important for a man as it is for a woman....you don't need to go OTT about it...facial hair as in beards ..moustache..and eyebrows need to be trimmed regularly as do nose...ears and chest.
A man needs to look and feel like man...Not a fan of the 'Waxed booby' look which the 'boys' seem to prefer these days...
I like my guys to be hair free in the groin area and the freshly showered smell is always good...everything else is a bonus.😊
