It can be really tough as the first message is pretty much the only chance you get to generate interest and start a conversation.

Try to be honest and open. Talk about specific items on their profile and how they relate to your own interests and experiences. A good and relevant subject line can sometimes be an advantage in getting your message noticed (you really don’t want a blank subject or just “hello”)

Then when you meet,
Take a shower (before:), clean nails, mouthwash
Turn up very early

it's not a selling process, its a matching process, so listen more than you speak
and it works 2 ways so t be nice !

Be yourself and say what you feel. You’re not going to get a response from everyone and seemingly there’s many with a fantasy view of what they expect vs reality. As well as those just out to get their ego tickled. But there are those here who will be interested of course then the challenge is keeping the conversation going.
