More attentive?
I get that feeling of freedom of doing something in secret and knowing that those around me couldn't believe I could do something like having an affair. The draw of that sensation of the knot in your stomach caused by the butterflies causing havoc and the knees wobbling is hard to resist.
I feel because of this I am a little more attentive to those around me... Can anyone relate?

I think the OP is trying to say that having a lover makes you feel more relaxed and content with your surroundings and home life …you will be more receptive because you are more chilled out .. not a misery arse like most guys are when they are not getting their sex quota 😉

...I'm only interested in that one special person in front of me.

It is amazing to have had an affair for such a long time. Circumstances meant it ended. You were very lucky.

Yes, I agree with always putting your wider life and family first.
If you find a great IE, you don't know how long it will last, enjoy your time together, and always be careful not to affect other parts of your life or hurt anyone close.

I agree. It takes a lot to admit that it's not your marriage that is bad, or failing, or work stress, or lineliness, or anything else external is the excuse. The real reason is that you like being bad, having a secret, and giving in to carnal instinct.

You misunderstood my point entirely…
Of course your affair was temporary…she had health reasons and moved away…she chose her family …I don’t doubt she must have been in a dark place having to give you up but like I said enjoy it for what it is …you were lucky you got a long term affair…sadly most don’t achieve anything near to that level
