Messaging
Hi, I'm hoping to get some advice from the more established bored members
on messaging technique and etiquette.
So, I'm a relative newcomer but have discovered my messaging technique is
letting me down, I can't quite work where to pitch it.
I'm trying to engage and hold the conversation but am then told my messages
are too long and winded. That they need to be shorter, punchier because
who's got time to read that plus of course someone maybe looking over your
shoulder.
Valid points, but surely a pithy two sentence reply/comment is hardly going
to maintain interest or engagement (unless you're Charles Dickens or Oscar
Wilde).
Most ladies on here seem to want a man crossed with the genes of Michael
MacIntyre and Jack Dee. We strive but it's difficult to get that over in a
few words.
So what's the secret?
I'm looking to you guys to offer up the elixir of smooth, easy going chat,
laced with humour and warmth in just a few words 😎
Oh and btw if anyone fancies practicing it with me I'm a willing pupil 😂

I think whatever you stipulate in your profile, be it age preference, distance preference, height preference, non-smoker preference etc..many men just totally ignore all that and bombard you with messages regardless, knowing full well its not what you're searching for.
Alot of them are just chancers, hoping for a bit of sex messaging, or a few photos to perve over. They are wasting their own time but they cant seem to give up.

Messaging …..not really sure that it’s the message that’s the issue but understanding is the problem..
I recently had a chat with a guy on here…even though it does say on my profile that logistics are important and he said he would travel to me as he is retired …I explained that it wouldn’t work…but he insisted and wanted to meet me …he sent his Pw …before I had time to look at at it …I replied to his previous message that it was a no …then he described me as ‘another shallow creature ‘…which is something I am not guilty of and never will be…
The guy was over my travelling distance and over my age limit of which I politely pointed out in the first message ..
You can’t please everyone…I KNOW 🤔

Honestly just be yourself. If you pretend to be otherwise, it's unlikely to work when you meet anyway?
For example I like to do a bit of amateur poetry. I'm no Betjeman myself but what's the worst that could happen...no response (no problem). Someone laughs (well at least I added to their happiness) or something connects our minds...kaboom ❤️🌹

From a women’s perspective I really care what is in the profile but I need the message to make me want to read the profile so something specific and catchy helps . Photo password cos everyone is curious

I would suggest to focus your attention on the person you are messaging. Why are you choosing to message them in particular? What in their profile appeals to you? Do you have any interests in common? Ask questions rather than making statements. Any woman can get low quality male attention just by standing still. Show that you are able and willing to offer high quality attention, because, trust me, everyone likes that, and nothing happens without it. Just my tuppenceworth. Don’t shoot me.
