Compatibility obviously. If you are compatible, you will go a long way. And you have to want a long term affair from the get go. Some people here are quite honest about the fact that they are looking for a short term arrangement, so they will not put in any effort to sustain the relationship.
Trust and honesty, as ironic as it seems in the circumstances, are very important. You need to be honest with each other in order to ensure your relationship is safe for both parties.

For the ‘ old hands’ as recently described unfortunately those that have enjoyed a LT affair will indeed notice the difference….the people have changed and circumstances are changing faster than before…people tend to want more for their money and they behave like they are entitled ..this means you are fishing in a small pool and are unlikely to find the person of your dreams and expectations are way too high..
10 years ago it was just as hard to find someone to have an affair but more were willing to put real effort into this…you entered into a relationship and you appreciated the other person family… you were careful to not get caught and you worked your affair around both families..you became friends and you honoured each other( strange statement…I know )… whatever baggage that came with the affair was accepted for what it was as we were emotionally balanced..we were also willing to go into an affair for the LT and cherished what we had found … instead of constantly looking for ‘someth

Sallybay had it spot on, but times have changed and there really isn’t a lot of people on here that can honestly offer those things, also add into the mix decency. It’s not a hard ask but very difficult it seems!
