I like a message that shows they’ve read my (probably quite short) profile. Also, if you’re 5+ years over my max age I’m not going to reply. No computer generated messages, that are exactly what’s written on your profile, no VK’s. I will say thanks for a gift

This question and the comments just go to show there are all sorts of people on here and what might work for one doesn't necessarily work for another.
I try to start with a simple hello and save the clever, witty and endearing stuff for later.....

Respect, courtesy, compliments and avoid familiarity there are real ladies and real gentlemen on here, until you get to know treat/write as if they were queens or kings 😁🤭😄
Well written English is interesting than, shortened words ( half the time I don't know what some of the words mean)

PS: Simple opening like interesting profile....does mine sound any good to you... something along those lines...

Be true to yourself, If you are desperate to find somebody it shows.

Choose carefully the profile which you think might match and write a short and polite introduction, briefly explaining the reasons you are interested in that person.

Don't try to be something you are not for the sake of matching somebody else's profile, they will soon see through the self deception.

I have never sent a first message but I like ones that make me laugh alot use words I have written on my profile get your coat you have pulled which means they have read my very long profile

Simple, be nice, polite- show an nterest in their profile and try to find some common ground.

Having a laugh is fine within reason, and absolutely no dick pics. I'm a man, and why others think that's a great opener is absolutely beyond me.

You may not get a reply to all, and will even have "no thanks", but you're going to at least have some chance finding a match if you come across as a decent person (and we know that some men - and women- don't when they message you).
