I think the matter of paying for something like a hotel is always pre-discussed, in my experience you would meet have coffee, a drink, restaurant meet all of that sort of stuff before you develop the relationship further and think about hotels, by then you've got a good relationship and understanding of the logistics. There's no hard fast right or wrong rule.

I've always payed - cost varies according to style and location.
Hotels that do 'day use' (9/10am to 4pm) are very competitive if it suits both parties - allows a break for lunch and resume ... ;)

Nothing is free.

I wouldn't expect a woman to pay for everything but to offer something might be nice!

I would expect to pay for it. Especially at the beginning, it would be nice to then offer to go halves. However I would decline.

Can't we have some more interesting topics to chat about. That can create a debate etc. Something to get ones teeth into. Assuming we have our teeth!

I have not been with many partners but in all but one case I (The Man) have paid and as another contributor has already mentioned it can quickly add up specially when there are other fees to pay. There was one exception where the lady in question was very much a team player and we shared the all the cost of our many pleasures.
