I know if my wife found out that I had cheated on her she would be very hurt but wouldn't seek revenge and would forgive me.....I think, where as I would be just the opposite, well I am a bloke, I have been married over 40 years through good and bad times and I think having affairs had helped the marriage giving me some distraction from real life at home, I had three daughters and even the dog was a bitch I needed that distraction

Yes but being ignored and treated like a doormat made me turn to someone else.
The first time was probably a year after my marriage. I had a young child and I met him at a bus stop struggling with a buggy and shopping.
He helped me every week for two months and eventually had an affair until I had to end it.
After that I had another affair about four years later which fizzled out as I moved jobs then another affair about 6 years later.
But since joining IE it's been hard as need more time to see and feel comfortable one meeting just wouldn't be enough to be honest.

That is actually what happened to me :P But our relationship in general has had a lot of misdemeanors. Often that is the case in long term relationships and marriages. I think we're humans, we have needs, wants and desires. Some of which can be fulfilled by our partners, others which cannot. Or maybe I'm just selfish and like the way that variety tastes :P
