Trains 🚆?????…the service isn’t adequate..!!

I have travelled longer distances but that was a decade ago but it did work at the time …nothing is impossible but you have to make a calculated risk ….sadly it’s not for me at this present time …

I am sure there are more stories to be told on IE😊

For me it depends on the individuals set of circumstances and what their time constraints are. I am single (no single bashing please!!!) so not confined time wise. I'm in London and had an affair with someone who lived in Edinburgh. That worked because his situation enabled him a lot of freedom and likewise. I was still married when I had my first affair and even though he lived in Bedfordshire London was our go to place. We still missed the last train home.....

Paula, distance wasn't the issue with that lady. It was the fact she was a guilt ridden wobbler, if she was serious there would be been no issue.

Whilst I'd agree that the closer the better, there are plenty of people for whom distance isn't an issue... a cursory scroll in the comments below shows that.

So how far is too far? Whatever is workable for said couple!

It all depends. For the purposes of IE meets, probably within about 2 hrs of travel (by various means) is reasonable I think.
