How far is too far?

How far is reasonable for an IE ,I don't drive but am happy to travel by train for meetings within an hour seems reasonable to me
How far have others travelled?

@ Naughty Sasha

In that case, he may be willing yet unable to have an affair, I wouldn’t waste your time. I’m not sure I’d be comfortable seeing someone who’s spouse keeps tabs on their whereabouts to that extent.

an hour seems to be the limit for most people

It all depends on your area and the condition of the roads or public transport, I live near the A12 in Essex and an hour will get me to the outskirts of London or to Ipswich/Harwich.
The other good road for me is the A120 to the M11 1hr 30 min will take me to Huntingdon which is my max distance/travel time.

My last IE used to travel about 2 hours to me and it lasted a very long time that was his choice to do that it's fine if the traveling can fit around your job which my job could not so everyone has to do what's best for them

But what about someone who lives an hour away but can’t go out cos he thinks his missus will smell a rat. The Covid situation means that he now works from home on a permanent basis! His missus doesn’t work and they go everywhere together. So this second round of ‘lockdown’ means we can’t see each other!

That's a very subjective question....

I think perhaps better would be firstly to ask yourself how near is too risky and then how far is reasonable. At the end of the day this is about meeting someone. If you want that to be once a week, then it has to be convenient, so nearer. If you are happy to chat online and meet up less often, then further away. 🤷

I guess that I am a bit fortunate in that my work involves a fair bit of travel. Pretty much anywhere in the SE, London and South Midlands is fine. But for the longer distances it has to fit around my work schedule.

So, I guess it is more a question of think about it first and filter out anyone who is just not practical. Avoid the disappointment. Unfortunately logistics do matter.

It sounds like your affair was very beautiful and I really hope you find someone soon

I have only had one affair and it was mind-blowingly stunning. I then lived near Norwich and she was the West Midlands which was 2.5 hours away. The affair started as friendship with extras and we would meet at least once a month but this would be at conferences and courses. We both travelled so were used to it. It lasted 3 years but ended with a fatal car crash on the M6. I have no regrets and have been through sadness but remember the so many good times we always had together. So in answer you your question. Distance shouldn't be a question for the right person.

Living in Cornwall I would say up to Somerset which is just over 2 hours
