Novel?

Is it just me, or do you get bored of someone sending you a long essay for
a first message? I never bother to read it, cos gurantee probably bore you
to death in real life.
Not here to read a novel, make it nice simple and direct.

I've had those and I usually message back saying it was too long and I got bored reading 🤣 it's a good way too see if they have a sense of humour or really are just boring!

You can't win whether long, short or precise. For instance I once messaged someone with some straight forward but tongue-in-cheek like for like, and dislike for dislike content finishing with '... so what do you reckon.. are we a good match?"

Ghosted.

Haha. I swear some women are only playing a game on here, and not seriously looking.

So far, if I get a really long generic introductory message or a short 'hey, how are you?' I'm not interested either way because there is nothing personal.

If he reads something on my profile and his message relates to that he gets a tick. If he can make that comment a funny one he really gets my attention. I also like it if he uses the subject box to start a sentence which he then finishes in the message. I find that intriguing. He can also include an interesting fact about himself to get me thinking. First impressions really do count.

So introductory message key words here are:-

*Personal
*Relevant
*Witty
*Intriguing
*Interesting

Remember, it's not the size of the message that matters but what he does with it to please me that's important...like one or two other things in an illicit encounter! ;-)

First messages are like profiles. They can be too long or too short!

I think a balance must be reached. The important thing is to engage the recipient, and, to say something about what is in the profile.

Better than a blanket message or a pre-generated profile.

A long, thoughtful message might me an indication of a gentle soul and you’re looking for a beast shag... I’d say thanks, but no thanks... but it’s sweet, so don’t be cruel.

Each to their own. I'm more put off by one liners, I like an introduction, a glimpse of their humour and personality. But I'm a very patient person so I guess it's down to our own personal traits x

Hmmmm..... i like to give a little info as an introductory msg, particularly if her profile has been wordy itself, then i might address something in it to show i read it. Otherwise its short but personal, so as not to seem generic mass mailing style, because, at the end she will look at my profile and think yay or nay.
Too many words are a waste of time as an intro to the prospective IE.
