I don’t think there is a one size fits all answer here as it is purely down to the individual situation. My last IE and I always exchanged gifts on birthdays, Christmas and Valentine’s Day but we were together over three years and it felt very natural to do so as it was clearly more than just a fling. X

If he or she is materialistic then god knows what to buy that you can hide. I hate buying presents for the sake of a useless gift. If not then either treat him with a hotel, flasher Mac, underwear and heels and your kinkiest side. Create a full show. For her the same but give her a taste of Christian grey.
