First date?

What's a good first date idea? It's yonks since I've last been to a restaurant. Work and Life is just SO busy.

Is a restaurant even what you really want to do on a first date anyway?

Honestly I feel that what you do on a date isn’t as important as who you do it with.

For example - I recently went on a date to a very nice restaurant with food that people pay good money for and ended up not really enjoying it, largely because of the person I was on a date with. Then more recently than that I went to a couple of bars with another date, ate pizza, drank cocktails and had an amazing time because of who I was with.

So in other words what I’m saying is that there has to be real chemistry first before the date or the fancy stuff you do to impress a woman might not help.

I first date is a testing time for both parties here are a set of rules which you may consider
1. Arrange to meet at a place of her choice.
2. consider both your work times. Do t rush.
3. Take her s present . Nothing flash .
4. You have set up a good restraint. Booked .
5. Dress well smart casual .. especially shoes
6. DONT mention other partners or associated.
7. Don't avert your gaze
8.. Tell her how nice she looks dress/hair etc.
9 Listen to what she says don't talk over her.
10. Pay the Bill 😉

Majority of my first dates have involved food and an activity. So yes, to the idea of a meal. But anybody who has spoken to me will know that I live to eat 😉

I prefer to meet for a first date somewhere where there are other people around café/restaurant/bar/pub.
I’ve also been on a few dates walking along local beaches as well.
The countryside and picnics, although appealing, are not for me.
And before you all go thinking… city girl.
Google Ayrshire… beaches, countryside etc… galore.
But those males who suggest meeting in hotel rooms, vehicles etc… for a first date.
Thanks but no thanks 👋🏻 😂🙄

A cosy booth in a bar or pub would be my preference, with some atmosphere but so you can also hear each other speak.

MLE often makes me laugh too with his spot on put downs (in a very British way)!

A quiet pub so you can get to know each other see if the spark is there when face to face

Anything where you can talk is good. So noisy places and cinema are out for me. My best dates have been very simple. Like a picnic
