Each individual case is different and can't be compared with groups. One might be due to lack of affection at home causing them to look elsewhere, another might be due to trauma from past experiences. Everyone has their reasons and justifications in their own mind.

Men cheat coz they know they can, like the saying goes "if you don't ask you don't get - so the built-in daring ego in men " is exactly how this gig works for men ....and not so much for women, women will only cheat if a given situation pushes them to go there with a significant other randomly and selectively ..... with men its all the time 24 x7.. like playing the lotto. Roll the dice of luck and see what happens - right guys!

When the passion, respect has gone its gone and humans tend to start looking and craving attention & excitement.
We all have desires, needs and want to feel happy, having someone who tells you they fancy you is a nice feeling.

The main reason we have affairs is because we find ourselves in a rundown relationship, where affection has gone out of the window. Even though we are not in a position to leave our partners, we opt for an affair where we seek excitement.

I was in a very long relationship marriage (37 & 31 years) my now soon to be X husband cheated on me four times that I know of!! He told me out of “guilt” and said he didn’t know why as he had everything in me 🤔🤷‍♀️
We had a very active sex life I worked and look after my appearance.... I never even kissed another man throughout our time together!!!
He’d always be very dominant and controlling in our marriage but the last 5+ years I was not able to move!! if I said I finished work at 1 he’d ring me at 5 past and asked where I was 🙈(He hasn’t worked constantly and not for last 5 years) and got to the point where he pushed all friends and family away ... I couldn’t even call at our daughters for a catch up he would always come too.... so last summer I plucked up the courage and left him ...I was recommended this site by a friend a couple of months later to be honest I didn’t realise it was for married people 🙈 ..... but It’s worked for me x

It's sometimes said that men talk to women in order to get them to have sex whereas women have sex in order to get men to talk

Whether that is true or not, an emotional connection is essential before having sex, it's just that men generally want to get to that point much quicker than women are comfortable with.

It's perfectly possible for both men and women to cheat on their partners because they are lacking physical intimacy at home. What matters is appreciating that men and women have different expectations about how to get there.
