Novel?
Is it just me, or do you get bored of someone sending you a long essay for
a first message? I never bother to read it, cos gurantee probably bore you
to death in real life.
Not here to read a novel, make it nice simple and direct.

This seems to be the norm. 95% of the messages I receive are from ladies hundreds of miles away despite my profile being as clear as it can be about distance.
I do wonder sometimes!

Seems pretty obvious to me that someone who puts time, effort & thought into sending that (important) first message is more likely to put time, effort & thought into a relationship.
Works the other way round, too..

A lot women's profiles you read things like, dont just say " hi , how are you" or "Hey, what are you up to?" So I guess a lot of guys go on that and try to put together a much thought out, sincere message but then maybe just try too hard and the message ends up a very lengthy read which is off putting. It can sometimes be quite tricky trying to find that balance between " too short and unimaginative" and " too long and boring"

First messages that are too long are not a turn on, something short but meaningful is always welcome I think, both sending and receiving.

Me I just wish ladies took the time to real all of a profile, not just look at a picture I am in Scotland so how could I meet someone in Surrey? Also if they say they seek a male between 21 and 40 why send me a kiss or message when I am 65, I am seeking a lady not just on the internet but to meet physically.

It is not as bad as you think as it helps to really know the lady, what is even worse is a message that just says “Hi”
