Novel?

Is it just me, or do you get bored of someone sending you a long essay for
a first message? I never bother to read it, cos gurantee probably bore you
to death in real life.
Not here to read a novel, make it nice simple and direct.

I 'm on the opposite side of this argument. I get bored with people that send one line messages with Imojis. When I get these I know I'm dealing with someone who either can't write a decent message or can't be bothered to make the effort. Either way it's a sign of lazy ness and I really don't want a lazy lover.

I like an opening message which relates to my profile. At least you can see that they have read your profile.

I would prefer a longer message to someone saying just hi. It’s those that just say, have you got kik straight away. That puts me off.

Assuming that the OP is female then I would remind her that it is not cheap for us chaps to be on here and so want to get our monies worth. It costs you nothing and so the least you can do is make the effort and read all the messages just out of courtesy if nothing else.

I personally look at location first , if it’s a reasonable distance and the gent hasn’t opened with , what’s your favourite sexual position , I try to respond , even a sentence is better than the monty python generated paste of profile

Interesting...so a first approach message now also can't be too long.
So as a man now, we have to individually look at every single profile, be creative, humorous and funny with mentioning aspects of the specific profile...send our pw and...wait
Yet the wonderful women on IE just wait to receive their messages and decide to read or if too long just ignore anyway...phew tough crowd indeed ;)
I wonder what it would be like if the tables were turned and it was the women who had to search, read, be creative, add humour and then provide their pw only to wait and see if they had a response....hhhmm?

The worst is when they copy and paste their entire profile rather than just saying hi....

Personally a long drawn out essay from a complete stranger does not engage me. While some are very well written and thought out, the majority seem like a copy and paste job.

I prefer short sharp bursts of personality. The more you bounce off each other the longer the messages become as you're genuinely interested in knowing more, genuinely trying to hide that smile from your partner on the opposite sofa and on occasions genuinely biting that lower lip😜
