Novel?

Is it just me, or do you get bored of someone sending you a long essay for
a first message? I never bother to read it, cos gurantee probably bore you
to death in real life.
Not here to read a novel, make it nice simple and direct.

Absolutely, comment on what in your profile that sparks your interest and leave it at that for the first message

I've yet to purchase my first membership and this latest lockdown as well as my increased key worker responsibilities has just prolonged the excitement and nervousness of it all. And now I fear I could be waffling on too much. I'm keen to learn though so let's see some examples. πŸ€—

Unfortunately many rude people here, of both sexes. Gives the rest of us a bad name. πŸ™„

I think it's a bit rude to say you get bored of reading a long essay... unless it's a lazy cut and paste from their profile as someone has taken care and their time to put that together.

Some of the longer messages I've had have been from people who have taken the time to read my profile and respond to it, and extra points if it's light hearted and makes me smile. (Points off if it's creepy goes without saying).

As to someone else's comment earlier, much better than Hi or just giving you their password.

Read it, correct it and score it out of twenty.

Definitely agree with you..I don't like the cut and past long epistle. Puts me off. Taking bit of time to send a message ist too much.

Well, better that than one which just says 'hi,' or pointless questions where the answers are in your profile.

Slightly cheeky can be good but agree immediate details as to what is enjoyed in bd isn't conducive to good communication.

A hi, like your profile, please read mine with a pic pw is all that's needed.

Though I'm not actively looking at the moment I usually add something about my rather odd situation....

If you are too lazy or too superficial to read something then you are probably the same on your profile. Pointless mystery or an auto profile which reveals precisely nothing!
Either way would not interest me. Just a checklist mentality.
Some lengthier odes can be pretty uninteresting but many can be really fun or revealing. For me that denotes an openness and some commitment to honestly making an efforet and that, of itself, speaks volumes about the person behind the avatar.

The long messages tend to be a generic cut and paste job and when you look at the profile there's often a load of waffle on there too. I tend to get bored very quickly...eyes glaze over and can't be bothered to read itπŸ˜„.
Short and sweet for me is the best, just a couple of carefully chosen words and it's often what's not said that's telling.
