Personally, I don’t think it’s transactional if the man pays for a date/room. Nor would I ever feel obliged to do anything because he has. I think it’s interesting to make such a point whilst fighting for the woman to contribute… perhaps a tactic to win an argument or save face rather than the actual underlying sentiment? A good partner will make you feel comfortable at all times no matter who pays. I’d also argue disgruntled tension arises from one’s own sense of limited power… but projection onto women is nothing new.

Definition: What Is a Transaction? A transaction is a completed agreement between a buyer and a seller to exchange goods, services, or financial assets in return for money. The term is also commonly used in corporate accounting. I realise there are other areas where this is also defined but was how I took it here.

The last comment was not needed and you don’t know me so please don’t presume to know What self awareness I may or may not have

Working out who is genuine can take time and if a couple choose to share then so be it but it is also plausible that this is not always the case.

There are really genuine people on here and from prior discussions a few of the people who responded in this would count as genuine . There are others who are not

@pink Eiga that is a very sensible comment and one that is very reasonable. You are absolutely right it is a couple to determine.

I think it is important to remember that not everyone is as reasonable or balanced as you and I have had women contact me where it was entirely transactional. Those people I ran a mile from.

The rest as you say is between two people

While I have come close to this point, but never actually got 'over the line' so to speak I am a bit old fashioned in this respect.

Would always offer to pay for the hotel first as I would be the one that books it (hidden bank account), but if my IE insisted on splitting the cost then that's fine, so long as I have assurances that it doesn't cause any risk to her being discovered or questions being asked at home.
